Tech Tricks Troubleshooting Transfer Pumps By Jerry Pollard Photo courtesy of Intech Equipment & Supply I f you are spray tech applying a plural component material through a metering system, you use transfer pumps to deliver a supply of material of sufcient pressure and volume. Tis will allow you to positively load your metering pumps on their fll stroke. When a transfer pump is faulty, the metering pump on either the "A" or "B" side will not completely load on the fll stroke. Te result will be that the product will be sprayed of ratio. If this happens, follow these troubleshooting steps: check the air supply frst, then clean all flters and strainers, open the return line from the pump to the material (if applicable), check the fuid and air supply ball valves, and, fnally, check for internal leakage. If you still can't fnd the problem, then call a professional!
