JANUARY 2014 COATINGSPROMAG.COM
As Ron Trout, sales manager for Budeke's Paints, said of OTN, "every
time they're involved in a project, we're excited and proud to be a part
because they're known in the industry for being able to deliver a quality
project." And a quality project is exactly what they delivered for UA!
time they're involved in a project, we're excited and proud to be
a part because they're known in the industry for being able to
deliver a quality project, and they back it up." Trout knows that
"if it ain't [sic] right, they're not going to leave the job."
On the Locust Point tank facelift project, that meant
picking a play with a roller sleeve that turned out to be
pricier but had better results. In fact, Frater was "surprised
how nice this came out looking," especially considering that
this is the first time they've used the specialty paint sleeves.
"You learn something new every day: You can roll metallic if
you have the right sleeve and the right product," he continued. And with just the metallic paint left to apply, that left
only seconds on this job's clock.
End Zone Dance
For Frater and his crew, as long as their clients are getting
what they want in the end, then they can call this a winning
project. Although the crew is still working on finishing up
those last two tanks that were add-ons to the contract, by
the time the job ends, it will have included the recoating of
what ended up being around 30,000 square feet (2,787 m²) of
30-year-old surfaces. And OTN will have helped turn a few
unsightly steel tanks into Baltimore beauties. CP
