72 NOVEMBER 2015 COATINGSPROMAG.COM EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano: Corrosion Protection for Hard-to-Reach Areas Recessed spaces are easily missed by common corrosion inhibitors, leaving areas exposed to the dangerous efects of corrosion. Cortec Corporation introduces a new product in corrosion protection to reach these hidden areas: EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano. Tis patent pending product is a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibiting (VpCI) powder designed to protect ferrous metals in hard-to-reach recessed areas, interior cavities, and voids. Due to the submi- cron particles, it difuses faster, travels longer distances, and has a much larger specifc surface area compared to a product with larger-sized particles. EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano ofers VpCI protection with unique physiochemical advantages, making it an extremely efcient method to treat hard-to- reach spaces within an enclosed space. Cortec EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano utilizes Cortec's patented VpCI technology to provide a monomolecular inhibiting layer on products. EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano powder is easy to apply with little or no surface preparation and provides superior protection to ferrous metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Tis product does not contain silicates, phosphates, nitrites, or heavy metals, and it provides up to 24 months of continuous protection. EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano does not afect the physical properties of the product and can be removed by air gun or water rinse. EcoFog VpCI-309 Nano is avail- able in 5-pound (2.3 kg), 50-pound (23 kg), and 100-pound (45 kg) lined drums. Tis product should be stored in a sealed container in a dry warehouse, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, with temperature not exceeding 150° F (65° C). Te shelf life is up to 24 months.
