Reader Inquiry #4211 Industry Bio: Dee McNeill Dee McNeill is the Global Market Director, Bridge & Highway, with the Protective & Marine Coatings business of the Sherwin-Williams Company (Cleveland, Ohio). He is responsible for bridge and highway coating specification approval and for facilitating the development of new coating technologies for his customers, the owners of concrete and steel bridges. His 35 years of experience includes seven years in the fabrication business, responsible for coatings applications, including as assistant director of a fabrication shop in Puerto Rico, and 28 years with Sherwin-Williams. McNeill's passion is delivering coating technolo- gies to state transportation agencies that never have enough resources and must always do more with less, and raising awareness of the pressing need to protect the nation's aging bridge inventory. He attends meetings of state Department of Transportation (DOT) consortia around the country to ensure that he understands their issues, and he is a longtime member of the T-G8 Coating Committee of the Steel Bridge Collaboration of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)/National Steel Bridge Alliance, where he is working on coating system guide specifications for new construction and field repaints. He is also actively involved with AASHTO's National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (NTPEP) in its effort to establish a national testing system to qualify coating systems for concrete bridges. McNeill is a NACE-certified coatings inspector and a member of the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC).
