COATINGS NEWS FROM NACE INTERNATIONAL October Conference Focuses on "Hot" Corrosion Topics he NACE International Europe Area and the BHR Group, a U.K.-based company specializing in fluid engineering, are co-hosting "The Pipeline Protection, 'Hot' Topics, and Marine Corrosion Conference" this fall. Scheduled for October 15 to 18, 2012, at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Edinburgh, U.K., the confer- ence will focus on effective corrosion control strategies and applications in the pipeline, marine, and protective coating industries. T Leading experts from the military, pipeline, offshore energy, commercial shipping, infrastructure, and facility industries will share the latest innovations in materials, technologies, and research through paper presentations, panels, and networking events. The conference will also feature an exhibition of indus- try products and services and full-scale product demonstrations. With CoatingsPro Magazine as a media partner, the conference will offer several technical tracks, including "Winning Corrosion Strategies in Major Commercial and Government Projects." The opening plenary session will feature general discussions on the importance of investing in corrosion control systems in the design/build process. Invited speakers will represent industries such as commer- cial shipping, oil and gas production, the military, and classification societies. Other sessions focus on military corro- sion issues, commercial shipping, energy production, infrastructure and public works, and regulations and standards. A pipeline protection track will feature such topics as cathodic protection and barrier coatings, field joint coatings, monitoring and mitigation, surface preparation, water pipeline insulation, and failure analysis.
