COATINGSPRO NOVEMBER 2016 57 Thermal-Chem Expands Decorative Floor Coatings Line ermal-Chem announced the 1064 DecoFinish Matte and 1065 DecoFinish Satin as the latest two additions to its coatings line. Both are two-component, aliphatic urethane coatings for use as a final wear topcoat. Each provides strong chemical, corrosion, and abrasion resistance, as well as stain resistance. DecoFinish Matte and DecoFinish Satin are polymeric topcoat systems designed for applications where the finish surface is exposed to high wear, abrasion, and ultraviolet (UV) light, and where a glossy finish is not desired. Both products cure to a dense, molecular structure and a smooth, matte, or stain finish, depending upon the product selected. An aggregate can be incorporated into the topcoat to achieve the desired degree of slip resistance. (Gardco) recently intro- duced a new coatings conveyor ground test, including five steps that inform users whether items to be painted are sufficiently grounded. Designed especially for electrostatic coating applications, Gardco notes that a poor ground of the pieces to be coated could result in a poor quality of the electrostatic coating work. Coating thickness might not be sufficient, or the pieces may not be evenly distributed. Users can conduct the test by connecting the cable crocodile clip to a known earth point, and then pointing the instrument to the part to be painted, touching the bare metal surface. After pressing the button, results are indicated through two green, one yellow, and two red lamps. e tester is battery-operated. Flowgard wall and ceiling coatings resist flaking, New & Noteworthy Send information and photos (transparencies, prints, or high-res JPG digital files at 300dpi) to Editor, CoatingsPro Magazine, 4501 Mission Bay Dr., Ste. 2G, San Diego, CA 92109 or by e-mail with attachments to news@coatingspromag.com Add Life to Your Project with Fiber Reinforced Linings. The FibreCreteâ„¢ family of polymer linings delivers a corrosion-resistant barrier with lower permeability than alternative flake-filled products. Spray application makes it much less labor intensive than matte systems thereby minimizing downtime and expense. FibreCreteâ„¢ is ideal for preserving secondary containment, ducts, stacks and process vessels where chemical exposure and physical demands are extreme.
