Roof coatings have always been a major part of what we offer to our readers. It's a huge part of the coating sector and seems to continue to grow more and more each day. We've seen a need for one publi- cation to fill the gap where the roofing and coatings industries overlap. ere are roofing magazines and there are coating magazines, but there doesn't seem to be one that specifically identi- fies the roof coating industry. at's what brought us here together today. From prep to applica- tion, safety to access, this standalone supplement should give you a great overview of this sector of the indus- try. To boot, we've included another aspect of the roof coating industry that isn't always covered: spray polyure- thane foam. As part of some roof coating systems, this material may be something that your company wants to look into for a broader reach or more specific solution. Up on the Roof In this first Roof Coating supplement, you' ll find our regular roundup of all things pertaining to roof coatings, such as equipment, safety, and, of course, coating systems. is article, found on page 6, covers access issues, substrate types, and spray polyurethane foam (SPF), among many other things, too. e second article in this special supplement gives some information on how to put together a rig for roof coatings. ere are a few additional hurdles to get over before you can start a coating project at height, and it's crucial to consider the main part of the equipment: the proportioner. Get some tips on what to look for in a propor- tioner in our article on page 20. Finally, our third article covers marketing tips for roof coatings contractors. is article gives four specific points to help you explain to the client the benefits of coating a roof versus getting a complete re-roof. at article is located on page 28. There's More! We hope you find this supplement to be very useful, as you hopefully do with all of our publications. If you're looking for more information pertaining to the coatings industry, be sure to check out our other supplements, covering surface prep, safety, equipment, and concrete. ose supplements include information about the roof coating industry, but they also include information pertaining to other structures as well. As the coatings contractor, we always have you in mind with our articles, so please be sure to check out the articles in this supplement and the other issues, and let us know how we're doing. Happy coating! CP Raising the Rooftop Coatings Bar
