According to Roach, temperatures inside the buildings never reached higher than 63 degrees (17.2 °C). "We had to pick and choose what we were using," Roach said. "W hen you get to that 50 degree [10.0 °C] mark — under that 60 degree [15.6 °C] number — you really eliminate a lot of products." e products they decided on were fast-cure materials by General Polymers (GP), which could cure quickly, even in those lower temperatures. But before they could get to the coatings, the crew first had to prep. ey used a Blastrac 15" (38.1 cm) unit for the open areas on the first day of prep. e crew used the shot blaster along with a Blastpro 954 high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuum and Ervin Industries 390 steel shot distributed from the Warehouse Rentals & Supplies. On the second day of prep, they used Metabo units around the edges. e prep equipment was powered by a generator rented from Absolute Equipment. And as combined efforts, the team was aiming to achieve an International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) 3–4.
