As usual, it's been quite a year, full of trade show travels, new friends, and tons of exciting projects. From stadiums to bridges and parking garages to airport roofs, this year has been a fun ride. We're sharing lots of exciting — and hopefully useful — information in this issue, too. Story Time Power, maritime, sustainability, and building envelope. ‚ose are the themes for this issue's feature articles, and boy, do we have some great stories to tell! We have a tank for power (page 36), a ship museum (page 50), a school roof (page 44), and exterior barriers on an apartment building (page 56). A lthough the substrates and circumstances are each unique, challenges form a common thread between them: environmen- tal conditions, safety concerns, and access are covered in each one in some capacity. Our shorter articles this month give a great cross section of what the owner of a coatings contracting company needs to be aware of. ‚is month 's safety article (page 30) covers tips on why and how stretching is so important. Do you think your favorite professional sports player hops on the eld without stretching? W hy should your team expect to perform at its peak without following that same mental- ity? One of our new Editorial Advisory Stephanie Marie Chizik Editor-in-Chief Group members, Marc Chavez, is sharing some more tips for the speci- er on page 26. Industry allies can be crucial! Coming Up Next! Not to be outdone by the excitement of the new year that 2019 is sure to bring, we're again closing out the calendar year with a few nal and exciting items. First, we opened this year's Contractor Awards Program! We' ll be accepting submissions for the six awards — Commercial Concrete, Commercial Roof, Industrial Concrete, Industrial Steel, Specialty Project, and MVP — until December 1žŸ. Only one month left to get your project or MVP submission in! Second, we're also introducing our 2018 2019 Editorial Advisory Group (EAG) in this issue. If you're inter- ested in getting more information on joining our EAG in the future or want to send us article ideas, please drop me a line. We're always looking to keep our content relevant and timely and, as always, to do the best job possible to meet the needs of our readers. Here's to a happy and healthy nish to 2018! CP
