14 NOVEMBER 2014 COATINGSPROMAG.COM 2015 International Roofing Expo Gives Back to New Orleans Roofng professionals participating in the 2015 International Roofng Expo (IRE) are encouraged to give back to the New Orleans community by partic- ipating in Community Service Day, the show's home repair and revitaliza- tion project. Now in its ffth consec- utive year, Community Service Day will take place on Monday, February 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with volunteers helping rebuild the homes of families that are elderly, disabled, or fnancially unable to support the renovation. "Tis is a great opportu- nity for the roofng industry to give back to the New Orleans community," said Tracy Garcia, CEM, director of the IRE. "Te success of this project is attributed to our wonderful volunteers and their dedication to helping those less fortunate." Skilled and unskilled volunteers are needed to help with the renovations. Skilled volunteers will perform a variety of construc- tion disciplines, including roofng, interior/exterior painting, fooring, and minor carpentry. Unskilled volun- teers will help with set up, cleanup, and other miscellaneous projects. Te International Roofng Expo will partner with Rebuilding Together New Orleans, a non-proft, volunteer-based program that repairs and rehabilitates homes and non-proft community facilities, as well as National Roofng Contractors Association's (NRC A) Disaster Relief Committee. For more information, contact: Easycove, (847) 972-2131, www.easycove.com Reader Inquiry # 4440 New GAF Cedar City, UT, Manufacturing Facility Starts Shipping TPO GAF, a North American roofng manufacturer, has started shipments from its new thermoplastic polyolefn (TPO) and polyisocyanurate (iso) plant in Cedar City, Utah. Construction of the new site was announced in spring of 2013; it houses GAF's third TPO and third iso production lines, and it's the company's second combined TPO/iso facility. TPO began shipping from Cedar City on August 1, and iso products are expected to begin shipping in early 2015. Te 541,000-square- foot (50,261 m²) plant produces the full line of GAF TPO products, includ- ing EverGuard TPO and EverGuard Extreme TPO, and it will manufacture both iso roof insulation and residen- tial sheathing.
