Qualifications and Certificates: List all certification requirements, e.g., Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Laboratory and Analysis, Certified Coating Contractor (SSPC QP 2), Certified Coating Inspector, Certified Coating Manufacturer, Qualifications of the Coating Manufacturer's Representative, and any certified materials (along with each material's Material Safety Data Sheets, other data sheets, and direc- tions). Ensure that the contractor's employees are trained in all aspects of the work to be performed, includ- ing all potential hazards. You'll also need to look into whether or not insurance and/or bonds are required. 6. Pre-Job Conference: Representatives of each inter- ested party must attend a meeting whereby the specification and Work Plan are reviewed in detail. Any misunderstandings or omissions in the specification and/or Work Plan are clarified and rewritten in detail, which then becomes part of the specification and Work Plan. 7. Delivery and Storage: Describe handling of all materials per directives, such as SSPC PA 1 or as modified by the specification. Provide for sample collection of materials for testing. Describe what constitutes "unacceptable" material, and provide removal criteria for any materials found to be unacceptable. 8. Finished Samples: Provide sample areas on the structure or replica coupons that demonstrate the proce- dures and finished coating system to be used. 9. Testing: Describe all testing to be performed as well as the method of testing, which should include where, when, and how frequently the tests should occur. Describe pass/fail criteria of each test method, e.g., average dry film thickness (DFT) readings should meet what's detailed in the specification. 10. Lighting: Provide criteria for visibil- ity, e.g., per SSPC Guide 12. 11. Dehumidification: State the requirements of the equipment, the controlled air, and when it is to be used.
