If building owners see that a product line has bad reviews online, they may like what you've got to ofer as a company but choose another contrac- tor with more reliable products. Here are a few things to keep in mind when researching diferent product lines: • How long has the product manufacturer been around? • How long have the particular products you're looking at been on the market? • How many total square feet have they been applied on? • Is there any evidence of extensive product failure? • What are the products' formula- tions? • What sort of material warranties are offered with the products? • Has the product manufacturer been around long enough to guarantee it will be able to meet the warranty's coverage period? • What technical support does the manufacturer offer? • How diverse is the product line? Research each product line's reputa- tion on the Internet, and contact each manufacturer for materials demonstrat- ing efcacy. Just because a company has been around a long time doesn't necessarily mean its products are right for you. And vice versa — just because a company is new doesn't mean its products are not right for you. Also, be sure to carefully examine each product's material specifcations sheet and seek opinions from experienced contractors.
