The roof, which covered a plaza holding a variety of stores, was about 15 years old. The roof covered about 106,000 square feet (9,848 m²) and was 18 feet (5.5 m) in the air. That meant having a "ground guy" monitoring safety and materials down below and installing a perimeter safety warning line. This 15-year-old Florida roof was in dire need of some attention. The client called in WeatherTight Installations to come down from New York to help re-foam and recoat the roof. First up: prep work. The six-person crew started by power washing, removing all of the debris and old coatings, and drying the roof with leaf blowers and mops. After they screwed down any detached areas, they headed home for Thanksgiving. COATINGSPRO MAY 2015 63 Florida Roof SPF
