NACE News NACE Reaccredited as an Authorized Provider of CEUs T he International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded reaccreditation status to NACE International. IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to ofer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Te accreditation period extends for fve years, and it includes all programs ofered or created during that time. "At NACE, we are proud of our education program, which trains more than 16,000 students annually and ofers more than 800 courses in 36 countries each year, teaching vital corrosion-related skills to keep our members at the industry's cutting edge," said NACE Education Director Pam Nicoletti. "Our renewed partner- ship with IACET is a demonstration of our commitment to lifelong learn- ing and high standards for all of our programs, and we are pleased to join such a prestigious organization, as well as an elite group of organizations that ofer excellent continuing education and training programs." "We are pleased to continue our relationship with NACE International as an Authorized Provider," said Sandra L. Williams, president of IACET and assistant professor and consultant at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Ill. She added, "NACE joins nearly 500 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure that the highest possible standards are met." NACE training courses are designed for continued, career-long professional development. NACE credentials are the ultimate proof of competence in the corrosion industry. Training programs include: General Corrosion Program: Gateway courses for individuals new to the corrosion industry, and skill enhancement opportunities for experi- enced professionals. Coating Inspector Program: Trains coating professionals to properly inspect the surface preparation and application of a protective coating system on a variety of structures in any industry. General Coatings Program: A variety of training courses that provide the technical profciency for coatings and linings application. Cathodic Protection Program: Designed to build an in-depth under- standing of testing, evaluating, and designing both galvanic and impressed current cathodic protection systems. Pipeline Industry Program: Addresses internal corrosion, remedi- ation technology, and feld techniques for carrying out integrity assessments, implementation, and management of integrity management programs. To achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, NACE International completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and it successfully demon- strated adherence to the NACE/IACET 1-2013 standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. NACE has pledged its continued compliance with the standard, and it is now authorized to use the IACET name and Authorized Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, NACE is now linked to the IACET website and is recognized as ofering the highest quality continuing education and training programs for the corrosion profession. CP
