A meeting was scheduled with me, the coating manufacturer, owner, property manager, and contractor to review the problems. Unfortunately, the contractor did not show up, and the coating manufacturer's rep said that he did not know what was in the original contract and therefore could not comment on the project (other than how to repair the blisters). A fter repeated requests, the contractor refused to warrant his work. T he contractor stated that the additional work had to be done and unless he was paid to perform the additional work, he would not warrant it. His quote for the additional work was exorbitant. Despite the five-year warranty, the property manager was forced to retender the project. He received quotes si x to eleven times the original cost to perform the work properly. T he building is still leaking and no repairs have been done. T he property ow ners do not want to pursue legal action as the costs for this could be greater than the costs to perform the repairs.
