Hallack prepared his bid, but then found out it came back
much higher than the other contractor. He asked the clients to
send over the alternate proposal. "W hen I saw it, I understood
why it was so much lower," he said. "Te system they were using
was a low-tech polymer system, and I could see right away it
would not be able to withstand the abuse it would receive. I
described to them my observations, and that was it — the
owners realized there was no comparison."
With his job secured, Hallack prepared for work. Te job
would take place over two weeks in the summer of 2015, and he
