March 2006 first labeled
our "Science Behind It"
articles. A lthough many
issues before this one
covered areas in detail,
this article gave a name
to what is often referred
to as CoatingsPro's most
technical article of each
issue. e inaugural
Science Behind It article
covered intumescent
coatings, including how
they work and how they're tested.

Readers saw a brand new
look for the magazine in
January 2007. e edito-
rial stayed the same; each
feature included a Job
at a Glance and a Vendor
Team, the Safety Watch
article included a special
Work It Safe section, and
Tech Tricks still shared
special tips. But the pages
of the magazine, includ-
ing the logo and layout,
got a facelift. It was the first ever redesign…but not the
last! We unveiled our latest redesign in January 2014.
