T he TIC crew shared details regarding the project and process innovations in their submission. " T hough there may not been any new discoveries on this project, the architectural make-up of the bridge stretched industr y standards to the fullest. One look at the bridge structure provides an example of how difficult it was to install a work platform and, after the platform was installed, to access the steel from the platform. Leadership for the project were constantly assessing the access to the steel and looking at the safest and most productive means of performing work." South Bay Sand Blasting & Tank Cleaning took second place for the project called Nav y—USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 for this Industrial Steel Category. ird place was awarded to Certified Coatings Company for their project Self-Anchored Suspension Span of New San Fran/Oakland Bay Bridge.
