COATINGSPRO SAFETY 2018 17 PPG Protective and Marine Coatings One PPG Place Pittsburgh, PA, 15222 (888) 9PPGPMC PMCMarketing@ppg.com www.ppgpmc.com After more than a billion square feet of surfaces covered and more than 20 years of proven patented performance in polysiloxane technology, PPG has developed the next genera- tion of polysiloxane coating innovation. PPG PSX technology is the premier name in polysiloxane coatings, maximizing performance and cost-savings within a variety of segments, from infrastructure to petrochemical and offshore to marine industries. With the introduction of the new PSX 805 and 800, PPG has built on this technology to offer some additional features, including improved flexibility and a satin sheen that can help to hide imperfections in the surface and coatings application. As with the PSX 700 – which still remains an excellent option if your project does not require these additional features – the new PSX 805 and 800 also provide all of the benefits that come with the PSX experi- ence, including excellent abrasion resistance, corrosion and chemical resistance, superior color and gloss retention, and many more. Sustainability = Safety With the PSX 805 and 800, PPG has developed the ultimate in sustainability and safety, providing ultra-low VOC emissions (<100 g/L), lower odor, reduced toxicity and risk (fire, explosion, exposure), and may improve wellness and welfare of people and the planet. e new isocyanate-free PSX technology delivers a high solids, virtually HAPs-free silox- ane coating that demonstrates high weathering and corro- sion resistance with improved flexibility when compared to competing siloxane coatings. High weathering and corrosion resistance eliminates the requirement of traditional three coat (zinc/epoxy/polyurethane) systems, as the PSX 800 series is able to be applied directly over most zinc coatings. Two coat systems reduce waste, and combined with unlim- ited recoat windows, provide superior weathering resistance which extends product life cycle and reduces frequency of repainting. e additional benefits of easy mainte- nance, reduced waste management, and low environmental emissions, all support sustainability initiatives. Industry Gold Standard PSX 805 has also been independently tested by UL and meets the criteria for GREENGUARD Gold Certification, one of the most stringent standard in the industry. is provides assur- ance that products designed for use in indoor spaces meet strict chemical emissions limits, which in turn contributes to the creation of healthier interiors. is standard is designed to define low-emitting materials suitable for environments where people, particularly children and sensitive adults, spend extended periods of time – in particular, schools and healthcare facilities. UL GREENGUARD Gold is referenced by both the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.
